Published May 11, 2017Former Great Bloomers member Tim Moxam released his debut album Soft Summer last year, and he's welcoming this year's summer months with a video for "Honey from the Hive."
The track appeared on the 2016 LP, and much like the sentiment behind it, the tune has staying power.
"'Honey from the Hive' is a song about how love, like honey, never spoils," Moxam tells Exclaim! "It doesn't end, it only changes. People grow together or apart but love is always at play."
The accompanying visuals, meanwhile, add some further dimension to the meaning of the song.
"The refrain 'don't spoil the honey from the hive' is a paradox," Moxam continues. "I wanted to make a video that compliments that paradox; a story of two lovers holding on to what's been lost, and the consequences of their actions. One searches externally, the other internally, but each deny themselves their one chance at preserving their love for the other — letting go."
You can see that story come to life by watching the video for "Honey from the Hive" down below.
Moxam is currently on tour in Australia with Liz Stringer, and you can see all of their upcoming tour dates listed here. Once he's back on home soil, Canadian fans can catch Moxam at the Sawdust City Music Festival in Gravenhurst, ON, from August 4 to 6.
