Published Mar 08, 2017Aimee Mann recently announced her return with an impending solo LP titled Mental Illness, and while the album doesn't arrive until the end of the month, Mann has upped the anticipation for it with a new video.
The camera has been turned on album cut "Patient Zero," and the video's cast of supporting players is an impressive one. The Daniel Ralston-directed piece is loosely based on Ronald Harwood's 1980 play The Dresser, which tells the story of an actor's personal assistant trying to keep his aging boss's life on track.
James Urbaniak plays the dresser to Bradley Whitford's actor, while Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, Mad Men and Love star Rich Sommer, and Tim Heidecker all make cameos in the clip.

Mental Illness is out on March 31 via SuperEgo Records. As previously reported, Mann has a series of upcoming dates lined up in support of the album, and you can see all those here.
